My name is Brent Celmins, and I am a Full-Time Dad. I left a six-figure salaried job at a large technology company to take care of our child and run the household.
I was incredibly unhappy at work, and while the money was nice, spending a third of my life in a lifeless cubicle farm sucked the spirit out of me. After much discussion, my wife Kathleen and I agreed my leaving the workforce to concentrate on building a solid family life was best.
Kathleen owns her own business, an online media company specializing in blogging and podcasting. She doesn’t make a lot of money yet, but she is entrepreneurial and has more passion for her work than I ever had at the office. I believe so strongly in her eventual success that I was willing to leave the breadwinning position at my company before our child was even born.
About My Daughter
We call our daughter Tiny Dictator (or “TD” for short) because when she screams her face goes beet red, her mouth quivers with anger, and her fist rises up in a murderous, shaking rage much like what must happen in Pyongyang when Kim Jong-Un gets the wrong kind of cheese on his burger.
TD was born in on June 30, 2016 after a completely by-the-book eight-hour labor, which, as it turns out, is a pretty horrifying ordeal.
